Go and learn a new skill in 1 hour.
What? In 1 (one) hour? Isn't it like 10 000 hours or so to reach proficiency?
I haven't said master a new skill.
*leans closer* Let me tell you something.
You can go in one hour from being terrible to a level where people will notice you being SLIGHTLY above average. Recently I learned how to draw a realistic looking skull. Can I draw now? Nope. But I can draw a skull to which someone who didn't spend 1 hour drawing skulls will say "Neat skull, so you can draw?"
Same thing with the piano, you can learn a scale, and randomly press buttons on a piano, and someone who recognises a piano 6 out of 10 times will believe you CAN play the piano.
Is it a cheap party trick to make you feel better? Probably. But hey, sometimes that's all you need.
